City council approves new hotel tax for short-term rentals

Virgil's Auto Clinic location may be future site of new hotel

Virgil's Auto Clinic is located at 1101 2nd Street SW, right across the street from Mayo Clinic Hospital - Saint Marys Campus. According to the developer's website, it will be the new spot for a five-story hotel that will offer up to 150 rooms. Bradd Nelson is one of the four owners, and said this doesn't come as a surprise, due to their prime location. Although the business thinks they'll miss out on walk-in opportunities, Nelson thinks customers will follow them to their new location in the 1800 block of Third Avenue SE.
